Welcome to NALISE
The Nigerian Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE) is a professional and scholarly body of Library and Information Science Teachers in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. It is a specialized Section of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA). All Lecturers in all Library Schools are potential members. However, officially recognized members are those who pay up their annual dues and participate in NALISE conferences.
NALISE aligns with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and the National Universities Commission (NUC) to ensure academic and practical standards in the training of Library and Information Science professionals. The first National Conference of NALISE was held at Bayero University, Kano in 1984 with the theme: “Education for Librarianship in Nigeria (State of the Art)”. Since then annual conferences (except few instances skipped for some cogent reasons) have been held in various institutions.
